In 1999 two 18-years-old guys used to skive school to go building jumps with a hoe on the hills around Bologna. From these escapes puts its roots the most famous downhill crew in Bologna, the Pinewood crew.
‘Dices and Flames’ is the first name of the crew, which starts participating to many downhill competitions all around Italy, to the highest levels of national championship.
In 2004 the crew establishes as elective place a wood immerged in the Bolognese mountains (Loiano) and starts tracing some lines characterized for level of difficulty and specialization, from freeride to downhill tracks structured on jumps, compressions, double-jumps, burms bends to a proper bridge.
In 2009 the crew, in the meantime grown up to 20 riders and hundreds of fans on Facebook, decides to give themselves a definitive identity basing on their wooden DNA with the name ‘Pinewood’ and a dynamic pine-shaped logo
Every year a stage of the Uisp DH championship takes place at the DH slope in Loiano, shaped with care by the Pinewood guys, always ending up in a huge party.
Pinewood crew’s philosophy is Peace and Love. And Campari!!!!
That's All (May 2011)
Pinewood’s first official video directed by Enrico ‘Lance’ Longhi, editor-in-chief of the culture and extreme sports webzine
Behind Magazine around the crew’s home spot, Loiano pinewood. The video ends up in a secret spot with suggestive shapes and lights.
On the way from dawn... to Limbo (Oct. 2011)
Pinewood’s second video is divided into two tranches reflecting a different riding style in harmony with the changing mountain panorama which characterizes Northern Italy. Still behind Lance Longhi’s eye, the crew passes from a sunny Fiesole, Tuscany, to the icy heights of Croce Arcana (Modena).
Special thanks to
